This five-class course is designed to help legal permanent residents pass the citizenship test given by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. The class includes test related English vocabulary.
1.) Attendees should be able to speak and understand English well enough to understand class materials.
2.) Applicants must have been legal permanent residents (Green Card) for at least 5 years (3 years if married to a U.S. citizen) before being eligible to take the test.
Through these classes, adults learn about U.S. history and government and are encouraged to take the citizenship exam. We know that immigrants have a strong connection to their country of origin, and U.S. citizenship does not mean losing one’s heritage. In fact, many countries even allow dual citizenship.
