This program is an intensive, introductory training course designed to prepare learners for high-demand, entry-level careers in residential heat pump installation, building performance, and green energy technology. It blends hands-on technical instruction with essential professional soft skills to give you a complete foundation for entering the workforce.

The program spans 6 weeks and consists of 100 total hours of instructional and hands-on learning: 80 hours of technical hands-on and classroom instruction, plus 20 hours of professional development and soft skills training.

There is zero cost to participate. Tuition, textbooks, online access codes, and certification examination fees are fully covered.

Participants can earn up to a $1,350 total stipend to help cover living expenses and earn while they learn. The 1st disbursement ($675) is issued at the halfway mark of the program based on meeting attendance and competency benchmarks. The 2nd disbursement ($675) is issued upon successful completion and graduation from the program.

Candidates must have a valid Social Security Number (SSN) or work authorization, and be physically capable of performing trade activities (e.g., lifting equipment, standing, bending, and working with tools). A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not strictly required for entry. Women and underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply!

No prior HVAC experience is necessary! This program is specifically designed for beginners, career-changers, and individuals looking to start a new career in green energy and building decarbonization.

Yes! The program is offered in both English and Spanish. Course materials, visual aids, and instruction are supported by bilingual instructors to ensure full comprehension and success for Spanish-speaking participants.

Upon meeting all course requirements, participants will earn nationally recognized industry credentials, including the Official OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Card, the EPA Section 608 Certification (refrigerant handling), a Program Certificate of Completion, and hands-on skill validation on operational heat pump equipment.

Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles across the Denver Metro Area, such as HVAC Installer / Helper, Heat Pump / Decarbonization Technician, and Building Performance & Maintenance Technician.

Yes! Through our partner Mi Casa Resource Center, all participants receive dedicated one-on-one career coaching, assistance with resume writing and interviewing, and direct connections to hiring employers in the region.

Training sessions and mobile labs are delivered across convenient partner campus sites in the Denver Metro Area, including Red Rocks Community College, Front Range Community College, and Mi Casa Resource Center.

Because this is an accelerated 6-week program, consistent attendance is critical. Participants are expected to attend all scheduled class and lab sessions. Unexcused absences or missing more than 10% of training hours may result in removal from the program and loss of stipend eligibility.

All instructional materials, software, and specialized diagnostic trade tools will be provided. Participants are expected to arrive at in-person labs wearing appropriate work attire (closed-toe work boots and work-appropriate clothing). Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, will be provided on site.
