Launched in February 2019, La Receta (pronounced la ray-say-tah, meaning “The Recipe” in Spanish) is a mobile-food business accelerator program operated by Mi Casa Resource Center to provide our nationally recognized small business development programming with a focus on small businesses in the food industry.
La Receta is an intensive training program that teaches entrepreneurs the specific skills necessary to be successful in running a mobile-food business, including unique marketing strategies and specific price structures.
Mobile-food businesses include:
- Food trucks;
- Catering companies;
- Push carts; and,
- Food-based businesses that sell their wares at farmers markets or online.
La Receta provides you with the tools, strategy and resources needed to launch, and expand your mobile food business within the growing food industry.
Offered in a blended-format combining face-to-face instruction with online learning modules, these 90 minute sessions are fast-paced and intense. You’ll be able to access coursework, materials, community and support when it’s most convenient for you. This combination allows flexibility for working professionals and career changers.
Each week you’ll complete project-based assessments to test your business assumptions while receiving support and feedback from your instructors & industry leaders. These weekly assessments build upon and support the next as you work towards developing your business. By the end of the program, you’ll not only have a complete and actionable business plan to pitch to investors, but you will have gained the knowledge and skills to successfully manage your business.
