The Financial Services Career Pathway program at Mi Casa can help you accomplish your goals!
Companies in financial services, like banks and credit unions, want to hire diverse employees, including women, people of color, and people who are bilingual. In addition to great pay and benefits, banks and credit unions offer employees work-life balance and a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule.
No matter what career experience you have, you already have skills that banks value.
You don’t need to be good at math to succeed in financial services. If you are friendly, willing to learn and have people skills, we can teach you the rest!
Thanks to a shared focus on connecting adult learners to opportunities and clear mission alignment, Mi Casa Resource Center, Community College of Aurora (CCA) and Metropolitan State University Denver (MSU Denver) came together organically in the Spring of 2017 to build a first-of-its kind, end-to-end pathway for adult learners interested in the Financial Services industry. This pathway connects adult learners to employment and up to four industry-recognized credentials simultaneously – optimizing investment in upskilling and maximizing income-earning potential. With equity at the center of our design, we created a fully modular pathway that starts with Mi Casa’s six-week program.
Participants have the opportunity to leave Mi Casa with up to nine college credits via Prior Learning Assessments (an affordable way to test out of classes based on work-based learning), and a job that pays as much as $20 per hour plus benefits and access to tuition assistance. CCA then steps in to provide two industry-focused certificates (Banking Essentials and Supervision Fundamentals). These certificates then stack into MSU Denver’s B.S. in Banking. Most importantly, the pathway builds from the existing skill base of adult learners (specifically in customer service, sales and cash handling).
FREE program that trains job-seekers for customer-facing roles in banks and credit unions.
